Our Philosophy Themes of work are diverse yet complimentary between Scott Taylor and Sy Wood, commonly having a seminal link to 'our time and place on the planet'. This approach ensures that each piece reflects not only the artists' skill but also the essence of the present moment.

Our Craftsmanship We specialize in creating exquisite sculptural masterpieces using the renowned Purbeck Marble, Freestone & Portland Limestones. Taking equal pleasure in using imported classical carving materials like Cararra and Statutory Marbles, Alabaster of Onyxs. Using historical masonry knowledge in combination with the cutting edge of power craft tooling, the artists hands are free to electrify new life into these ancient stones, they strive to opening up fresh possibilities in form and sculptural expression, that traditional tooling could not explore. The duo, now craft highly-collectible works of art with permeance and legacy in mind, that seek to embellish and augment their peers traditions, work still present 1000yrs later adorning Britain's earliest medieval churches and cathedrals, and movement which inevitably inspired the European Renaissance.

SCOTT TAYLOR

Master Mason & Sculptor

"Heritage Masonry experience honed over centuries and new technologies, allows us to efficiently deliver a vibrant and fresh gallery of fine sculptures that pushes the boundaries of the medium in modern and culturally relevant artistic expressions...."

MASONRY BACKGROUND

In 1982_Aged 16, Scott began work as a traditional stone masons apprentice. He quickly focused on carving and sculpture as a banker mason and marbler. Scott’s work has a grace that can only be achieved with an absolute mastery of stone and marble work. Rodin’s mantra of being true to nature is his constant guide. Indeed nature, the nature of our species and our place in our fragile world is his reoccurring theme. Having worked for decades producing commissioned work as a sculptor and mason he is now giving voice and sculptural vision to things that matter to him and to us all. It is clear we must accept responsibility for our fragile world. This requires detailed understanding and observation of the complex web of life we so casually abuse. Art similarly requires detailed observation as a basis for any abstraction to carry weight and meaning. So much of the beauty of our world is hidden. Our frenetic world vies endlessly for our attention, leaving little time to think and contemplate our course and actions. Scott’s work draws attention to the apparently simple, yet often subtly complex beauty of nature, and in doing so, invites us to stop and think for a while.

DESIGN BACKGROUND

Sy blends 25 years of luxury Superyacht design, Furniture detailing, and Interior design management, with grounded tradework and memorial masonry expertise. With an honored bachelor's degree in 'Spatial design & Designed Interiors' from Chelsea School of Art, London. Sy uses a technical arsenal of creative skills and a holistic mindset to balance space, emotion, material, light, and form. He is currently creating sculptural maquettes as inspirations for much larger-scale landscape pieces and monumental stone projects. In combining modern technologies like CAD/AI with traditional craftsmanship, Sy understands stone's value through antiquity as an enduring medium. 'Sculptural Stonework is an investment. Over its lifespan, the medium of stone has an unsurpassable spiritual and financial value' Sy's work draws inspiration from various sources, including science fiction, mythology, and ancient structures. His creations explore human origins, technological synergies, and the intersection of art, culture, and ethereal spirituality. 'These manifestations help connect us to our place in the universe our deepest conscience and our awareness of much wider cosmic timelines.' ~ 'I enjoy working hard to create long-lasting 'time capsules', memorial landmarks & interior sculptures symbolic of all stages of our lives that can last thousands of years.' ~ 'Designing and manifesting a creation in stone is incredibly meditative and healing. ~ I aim to create a focal point to pause for contemplation, celebrate human existence, and free our spiritual energies, to allow the release of our innermost thoughts via a conduit of physical form. 'Memorials are about life, not death.'

"While I've mastered the art of creating beautiful, aesthetically pleasing Interiors and furniture for Superyachts, I've always felt drawn to something greater.

I'm deeply passionate about crafting monumental sculptures, statements of scale that transcend time and touch the human spirit. These aren't fleeting designs, but permanent works of art that leave a lasting impact on human culture as a species."
